The complete PSP (PlayStation Portable) list of launch titles

The PSP will launch with 24 videogames available on March 24th

Sony PSP

Sony PSP

The PSP is launching with a surprisingly large library of games available. Racing games are well represented: Wipeout Pure, Need For Speed Rivals, and Ridge Racer. Sports games are very plentiful both in terms of actions sports, THUG 2 Remix, and traditional sports, NBA. What is oddly missing is first person shooters, and traditional role playing games, two types of games that players tend to flock to.

The biggest surprise is Sony has announced that they will be including a copy of the Spider-Man 2 Movie on UMD, as part of the PSP value pack, which will retail for $249, and will be the only PSP option available on March 24th's launch. The value pack includes the system, battery, charger, case, 32 MB memory card, as well as a non playable demo UMD (I know, I was saddened too), headphones, and a copy of SpiderMan 2, the movie, on UMD. It should be noted that if you want a PSP or any games for the PSP on launch day, you had best reserve one at a retailer.

Gamers can find the following titles available during the launch window at more than 18,000 retail locations (listed in alphabetical order):
