So shop in confidence, every game on this PS3 Holiday Gift Guide 2008 is excellent and it should be all you need to find the perfect videogame gift.

© SonyDon't be fooled by the cover. Yes, Little Big Planet is a cute looking platform, but it is so very much more. This is the single game this year that will change the way games get made in the future.
While it is an amazingly fun four person competitive/cooperative platformer its real feature is the ability to create and share levels. Already incredible games are being made, by fans for fans, with Little Big Planet, and the fun is just beginning. Expect to hear a lot about LBP well after the holiday season is over, and expect to hear thanks from the person you give it to.

© SCEAThis is the sequel to the hottest PS3 launch game. Resistance 2 is also a game that PlayStationites will be playing and talking about for years. With 60 player online battles and an incredible offline story that can be played with friends or alone, Resistance 2 is going to be the Halo 3 for the PlayStation 3. It's the game you will reach for every time you just want to "play a game."

© Activision-BlizzardThis is a tough call, both Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour are excellent games and you should feel comfortable picking up either one. Personally, I think Guitar Hero World Tour has the edge with better instruments and the ability to record songs, but Rock Band 2 does have a lot more songs available.
Either way, music games are here to stay and as embarrassing as it may seem, it is absurdly fun to play plastic guitar, get your friends on the virtual drums and microphone, and live out your rock and roll fantasies in your living room. Just remember to draw the curtains.

© SEGAValkyria Chronicles is a beautiful strategy/role playing game for the serious gamer in your life. With 100 customizable characters, gorgeous hand drawn graphics, and a quirky/complex story that can only be found in Japanese games this one is sure to please RPG fans worldwide. It's the type of game you only find on the PlayStation systems.

© SonyIf rock just isn't your thing, Singstar just may be. In fact, with the ability to have two people sing at the same time, Singstar is often a better party game than Rock Band or Guitar Hero, as it seems everyone just fights over who gets to sing next anyway.
The Singstar Bundle comes with everything you need to throw your next-gen karaoke party. Rather than having cheesy video clips or virtual rockers in the background, Singstar treats you to the actual music videos with each song you sing. Singstar has a wider variety of music and is a bit less intimidating and easier to pick up than Guitar Hero or Rock Band. If you have a crooner on your list, Singstar may be your new best friend.

© BethesdaOne of the highest rated games of all-time (yup, it's that good), Fallout 3 is a an epic post-apocalyptic game that will not only wow gamers with its story and art, but blow them away with some of the most polished gameplay seen in any game.
Dark, violent, and wild this isn't a game for the munchkins in your life, but grownups will appreciate the deep targeting system and other gameplay mechanics.
If you want to be really popular, give the Fallout 3 Collector's Edition. It comes with a lunchbox and bobble-head... sounds silly, but gamers go ga-ga for this type of thing.

© SonySOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Confrontation is available as both a bundle, which includes a very cool PlayStation branded Bluetooth headset, and a stand alone version. Please note that this is an online-only game, so if your PlayStation gamer doesn't have their PS3 hooked up to the internet or doesn't like to play online games, this is a pass.
If, however, they do like online gaming, then SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Confrontation is a must have. This has been a longstanding franchise and was hugely popular on the PS2. This is an intense game which requires more skill than most online shooters, and is perfect for the hardcore gamer on your list.

© EALooking to buy something different? How about a first person game that's more about running than fighting? Mirror's Edge will take you on vertigo inducing free-running/parkour adventure that will have you running up walls and jumping off roof-tops in one of the most innovative games of the year.
Stylish, and original, Mirror's Edge is a great game for those looking for twist on run and gun gameplay.

© SonyIf you are looking to give the ultimate videogame gift, give the PlayStation 3. With incredible games, a built-in Blu-ray player, the ability to surf the web and download movies and games it is truly the next-gen HD videogame console.
If you are going to give, or buy yourself, a PS3, buy one of the bundles. From the official Metal Gear Solid bundle, which comes with possibly the greatest PS3 game to date, to any of the ones that Target or Costco have put together, you will save a lot of cash by buying a PS3 set.
Shop around, as many retailers are putting together incredible set deals for the holidays.

© LogitechWhen it first came out the wireless keyboard with a built in touch pad was a luxury, now it's getting to be a necessity. A good many of us use the PS3 to surf the web, watching YouTube videos on your TV is infinitely more satisfying, and there are a dizzying frequent amount of times when it seems necessary to input text into the PS3.
Yes, you can do it with the DualShock 3 controller, and yes, there will soon be a Sony keypad attachment, but really, nothing is more useful than having a full-sized wireless keyboard to use with the most powerful computer in your house, the PS3.
This is the perfect accessory for the PS3 gamer that has everything.
