Guide Review - Speed Racer Limited Edition DVD
This Speed Racer DVD offers up the first eleven of Speed's zany races. It is trip back to the zany sixties, when race cars like the Mach 5 could drive up mountains and jump over trees using hydraulic jacks built into the undercarriage. Those truly were the days.
The sound and visual quality is good, well as good as a 30+ year old cartoon can get. Unfortunately the special features are weak, at best. They only list five items under 'Speed Racer products', really there are dozens, and the DVD seems to ignore the products and newer series that were released in Japan. The DVD does, however, offer a bit of Speed Racer history for trivia buffs.
Overall it's a good intro to Speed Racer and a it would make a great gift for fans. Go Speed Go!
