Netflix Finally Coming to the PS3?

Sunday October 25, 2009

Netflix stocks have jumped 9% on the announcement that their streaming service will be coming to a home entertainment device already owned by a good number consumers.

The web has already been buzzing on rumors that the either the Wii or PS3 would be getting Netflix's streaming video service very soon. Add to that the announcement and there is plenty of reasons for PlayStation 3 owners to get excited.

Of course it could be a stand alone Blu-ray player, or perhaps some sort of DVR or satellite system. But one can hold on to hope, can't they?

Not interested personally, though i know a lot of people are. For me BR movies are currently the best quality. Thats what Im going with. No need for compressed audio and video. And please don’t tell me that netflix movies are comparable with BR.

It would be super awesome to have it on ps3. Although some people are already watching netflix on their ps3 because of this one software”PlayOn $39″ free 14days trial. I didnt buy it because its over-priced!!

I keep reading this everywhere, but I don’t see why Sony wouldn’t be better off to offer their own movie and show line-up with unlimited views for a monthly fee. Seems they would make more money that way. Unless they want it just because Xbox has it. It also seems that they have invested a good bit of money into getting this service going just to hang themselves by offering Netflix. Just my thoughts. I could be wrong.

Lol. Just got up this morning to read the news that it is official. I WAS wrong. Oh, well. It’s happened before, it will probably happen again. I still think they should have been able to make more from offering their own unlimited service.

Not to put a downer on this, but since the Microsoft xbox 360 already has netflix in the US, I’d presume they’d probably just add to that for a wider frame of countries.
