Obama to Appear in Videogame Advertisements

Wednesday October 15, 2008
Barack Obama has decided TV wasn't enough, he wants to be in the game. More specifically, he wants to be the presidential candiate in your game.

Obama is the first presidential candidate (FIRST!) to purchase in-game advertising space. The Obama '08 campaign has purchased advertisements in nine video games including "Guitar Hero," "Madden 09," and "Burnout: Paradise."

According to Boston.com the Obama campaign said the videogame ads will target 10 states that allow early voting: Ohio, Iowa, Indiana, Montana, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Nevada, New Mexico, Florida, and Colorado.

No word yet as to how much Barack Obama has played any of these games, but watching him play Guitar Hero against Joe Biden, or better yet Guitar Hero World Tour with John McCain and Sarah Palin, sounds like a viral video waiting to happen. I'd also love to see any of them as unlockable characters.
