PS3 controller update

Thursday May 11, 2006
The PS3 controller was a delight to hold. Not only was it every bit as comfortable as the Dualshock controller, it was a technological marvel. I was treated to get to play with a finished-looking PS3 in a pseudo living room that Sony had set up. PS3 to the left, HD plasma screen in front of me and I was waving and tilting the thing like mad, playing Warhawk.

It was amazing how well the six-axis motion sensor worked. I titled the controller and the plan veered with it. It was extremely intuitive and very fun. There was no sensor to hook up, just turn on the PS3 and go. The controller required no calibration. I'm waiting until tomorrow to get my hands on the Wii controller to compare, but at this point, a lot of the steam for Nintendo's motion sensor tech has left the building. Apologies for the lack photo, we've got limited connectivity tonight. I'll do what I can to get images up ASAP.
