The official word: PS3, November 17th, $499/599
Tuesday May 9, 2006
Sony had its big shindig yesterday and shocked us all. The official word is that the PlayStation 3 will hit the streets globally on November 17th (start your pre-order now people). It will retail with two versions, a US $499 version will have a 20 gig HDD, and a US $599 version will have a 60 gig HDD. The same PS3s will cost CAN $549 and CAN $649. Oh, and the boomerang controller? Gone! The PS3 controller is a wireless hybrid version of the PS2's Dualshock. The clincher? It has built in motion sensors... oh, poor Nintendo. I'm on my way to E3 as we speak, so I'll get you more details as I get 'em. In the meantime. Feel free to use the comment box below to share PS3 info with each other, and me! so the 60 GB HDD version is 549. not 599 like previously annouced?
Thanks for catching that, wishful thinking and a bit of a type-o! It’s $599 not $549.
