Tuesday November 15, 2005
"When the concept for PlayStation was in its infancy in the early 1990s, we had a dream to elevate the quality of computer graphics from a two-dimension-based environment to a rich, realistic 3-D experience," said Ken Kutaragi, chief architect of the original Sony PlayStation in response to Sony winning an Emmy by the U.S. National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences according to a report by Technology News. The videogame system, celebrating its 10th anniversary in the North American market this year, was awarded the Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Technology and Advanced New Media category. Congrats to Sony and its PlayStation platform for winning one of TV's great awards.
