Can you say N-Gage?

Tiger wants in on the handheld market. Fair enough. In October they will release the Gizmondo, a handheld gaming device that runs on a portable version of Windows. Later in the spring they will release a wide-screen version to compete with the PSP. The Gizmondo will retail at two price levels, one at, gasp, $400 and one at $239. Here's the kicker, they're the same machine, but to use the cheaper one you must watch commercials. Yup, three a day to start. Folks have tried to wrestle the GameBoy giant for a decade now, and failed (anyone remember the Zodiac or the N-Gage?). Only the PSP has shown any ability to win the hearts of consumers. I applaud Tiger for their bravery, but at that price, I think I'll opt for the commercial-free PSP.
